Executive Board

President/CEO

Fellow Members, Partners and Sponsors,

I would like to seize this opportunity to thank you so much for being a Member, Partner or Sponsor of the African Leadership Empowerment Council's political initiatives. It's always a pleasure for us to partner with you in order to reach out in building leadership and promoting democracy and good governance in Africa. In America, Continental Africans are still searching for a common leadership voice to articulate and lobby for African issues at various levels of government: Local government, US House of Representatives, US Senate, the Immigration and advocacy issues. By founding the African Leadership Empowerment Council, we intent to collaboratively work together in a Team Leadership to assess and address common social, economic and political problems affecting Continental African here in the United States of America, from local to State and National levels.

Together we can create a responsible political voice within the American political mainstream. We could also create a positive voice to help shape the democratic transitions in Africa. Through a vibrant African Diaspora Initiative at the Local, State and National levels, we intent to build a political consensus as Continental Africans to fully participate in the political process, engage in civic education, responsible citizenship, leadership empowerment, political representation, advocacy and public policy issues.

The African Leadership Empowerment Council offers many programs of interest to all. You can participate in Leadership Africa Initiative through conferences, position papers, democratic education and political awareness. Leadership America Initiative offers possibilities for Volunteer work and Community Involvement, Conferences and Town Hall Meetings, Leadership Empowerment and the Continental African Voice. The ALEC Annual Leadership Awards provides an opportunity to come together in order to celebrate our achievements, encourage Academic Excellence and acknowledge all those who contribute positively and in their various areas of expertise in transforming their communities and / or their nations.

Through its Commission on African Affairs, ALEC intends to strategically play an important role in networking with the US State Department, the US Congress and Senate, the IMF and the World Bank, as well as other International organizations involved in Africa in order to bring a Diaspora Perspective on the socio-economic and political issues affecting the continent.

I therefore invite all African politicians, Human rights activists, community leaders, professionals from all sectors, and Friends of Africa to join ALEC and be part of building and supporting a new generation of leaders to bridge the institutional and the African Leadership Diaspora disconnect with Africa. We are also encouraged to continue to build the African presence within the American political mainstream at all levels. As an organization for political and community empowerment, ALEC is also the Leadership Voice for Continental Africans in the United States of America.

Thank you for joining the African Leadership Empowerment Council(ALEC)
